Description:
The Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners club of Great Britain's "Working Crawlers" day was a unique gathering of vintage crawler equipment, but with a small difference - this time Caterpillar yellow was no the only colour to be seen!
Members brought along Track-Marshalls, International Harvesters, a couple of Allis-Chalmers, a County Ploughman and a rare David Brown 30, and they put them all to work alongside a range of Caterpillars from a 1930s D2 up to a state of the art rubber tracked Challenger 75.
The idea was to let visitors compare and contrast the different machines at work. Organised into their relevant power classes, they worked with a variety of implements including ploughs, mole drainers, cultivators of various sorts and an ancient chain hauled Twin-Way plough that looked as if Noah might have used it for his first furrow out of the ark. A fascinating spectacle of working crawlers for the vintage enthusiast who likes watching Caterpillar machines hard at work side by side with their contemporaries.
