On the 14th April, 1993, the village of Bardney remembered an unforgettable period in its history. Fifty years ago to that day the remainder of IX Squadron moved to their new home at RAF Bardney. Lancasters returning from a bombing mission to Spezia, landed for the first time on the base at 6:30am on the 14th April, 1943. From RAF Bardney, IX Squadron flew many missions and attacked many special targets.

This DVD tells the story of that incredible period in Bardney's history through wartime photographs and interviews with villagers and surviving members of IX Squadron.

This DVD records their personal stories, memories and the events held on the day which cemented the friendship between the villagers and the personnel who served at RAF Bardney.
