Tractors, Mud & Machinery
Following on from our very popular production ‘Tractors, Tools & Traditions’, Trevor Kerfoot is back with more working machinery. Trevor is a true enthusiast and for this production we visit him, his family and friends as they work the land, spread muck, plant fodder beet and potatoes and then harvest both root crops and barley.
A fleet of four first generation paraffin powered Fordson Major tractors are seen at work, including two with Perkins engine conversions, supported by an Allis Chalmers B with an underslung tool bar and several other Fordson models and tractor brands.
The team took advantage of having all four Majors at work in the same field at the same time to employ a wide variety of tackle to do the work. Implements to be seen include Catchpole and MF root harvesters, Lely and Howard cultivators, Johnson and Robot planters, JCB and Hydraulic loaders, four muck spreaders, four different trailers and two forklifts. Three vintage combines, including a rare British Ransomes, harvested the grain.
A rare collection of contemporary equipment working together and a feast for the eyes – and ears – of vintage equipment enthusiasts.
